Our 12-week beginner programme can be joined at any time, with the training cycle resetting on 1 September 2026.

This fully comprehensive 12-week beginner programme is specifically designed to teach you the fundamentals of Krav Maga and self-defence so you feel confident joining our main group classes. Whether you're completely new or have limited time, this programme gives you essential, life-saving skills while preparing you to step smoothly into our regular timetable.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need previous martial arts experience?

No. The Fundamentals Programme is designed for complete beginners. No previous martial arts, self-defence, or combat sports experience is required.

​

Do I need to be fit before starting?

No. All fitness levels are welcome. The programme helps you gradually develop fitness, movement, coordination, and confidence alongside your self-defence training.

​

Do I need any equipment?

Yes. For safety, students need a groin guard for the course. The groin guard is included in the course price and will be provided during Session 2.

You do not need to buy any equipment before starting.

Why should I do the Fundamentals Programme?

The programme gives beginners the foundations that make future training more effective. You will develop movement skills, striking basics, awareness, coordination, fitness, and training habits before progressing into regular classes.

​

Do I have to complete the 12-week programme before joining regular classes?

No. The 12-week Fundamentals Programme is recommended for beginners, but it is not compulsory if you already feel confident enough to try regular classes.

If you feel ready, you are welcome to book a trial session and experience a regular class. From there, the instructor can advise whether regular classes or the Fundamentals Programme would be the best starting point for you.

What will I learn during the programme?

The programme focuses on:

• Fitness and conditioning
• Basic tactical understanding

The goal is to build practical skills and physical understanding before introducing more advanced self-defence applications.

We focus on developing functional movement, timing, awareness, pressure handling, and fighting fundamentals before introducing more advanced self-defence applications.

We believe self-defence works best when supported by physical understanding and practical skills, rather than simply memorising techniques.

What happens if I cannot complete all 12 weeks in one cycle?

If you miss up to 2 sessions due to illness, injury, work commitments, travel, or another genuine reason, you can still complete the course within your current 12-week cycle.

If you miss more than 2 sessions, you may request to move your remaining participation to the next available course cycle. This option can only be used once per booking, must be agreed with the instructor, and depends on availability.

This policy is in place to keep the programme structured and fair for all students.

Can I get a refund if I change my mind?

We are unable to offer refunds once a place has been booked. However, if you are unable to attend your original course date, you may request to move your booking to a future available course, subject to availability.

​

Is there support available outside of class?

Yes. Members have access to our online learning platform, which includes technical breakdowns, solo training drills, punching bag routines, revision material, and additional training resources to support progress between classes.

​

What happens after I complete the Fundamentals Programme?

Most students progress into our regular training programme, where they continue developing self-defence skills, striking, movement, awareness, tactical understanding, and overall physical capability within a structured progression system.
